Donations can be made to the Team in any amount by check or online through the University’s secure online donation site by clicking the “Give online” button. In addition, you can donate to one of the Team’s Donation Campaigns below.

The generous support of our sponsors is essential to ensuring the continued success of the Solar Car program at Michigan.

By donating to the team, you are helping to provide one of the greatest experiences on campus in which action-based learning, real-world responsibilities, and the students’ passion for innovation combine to create the defining experience of many team members’ college careers.Our sponsors provide the team with the material and financial capital necessary to remain at the forefront of technology while pursuing our vision: to be the best solar car team in the world, leading in performance and innovation.

Donations can be made to the team in any amount. We greatly appreciate all donations to the Team. Donation Campaigns
The Team currently has two donation campaigns: Buy-A-Cell and Adopt-A-Race Crew Member.

Buy-A-Cell

Buy-A-Cell has been a long-standing campaign in which individuals, University and Team Alumni, Alumni Clubs, and Small Businesses have supported the team by covering the cost of one or more of the car’s solar cells.

There are over 2,300 solar cells on our solar car and with every single cell you donate, you bring the Quantum 2011 Team closer to our goal: to become the first American team to win the World Solar Challenge Championship since GM won the inaugural race more than two decades ago.

Adopt-A-Race Crew Member

Adopt-A-Race Crew Member is the newest campaign of the Solar Car Team. Through this program, you can donate to the team by “adopting” one of the Team’s Race Crew Members. Your support through this program helps to cover the costs of bringing our Race Crew to the World Solar Challenge and American Solar Challenge competitions.

You can even specify the Race Crew Member you would like to adopt. Adopt your own child, a student from your local area, or any member of Race Crew you would like! Each project cycle there will be two Adopt-A-Race Crew Member campaigns, one for each race. See the Adoptable Race Crew Member Packet below for Race Crew Member bios.

How to Donate to the Team
Checks to the team can be made out to “University of Michigan Solar Car Team.” Please indicate that you intend to make a donation to the Team by writing “donation” in the memo section of the check. Checks can be sent to the Team at:
