Traveling North

We started the morning at Uluru (Ayers Rock), where we again enjoyed seeing the colors of the rock change as the sun moved through the sky--this time for sunrise rather than for sunset. After this, we hiked around Uluru and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) as the day grew brighter and hotter. After spending the entire morning at the park, we hit the road, and arrived in Alice Springs for dinner. We are making our way out of the city (yes, there is civilization in the outback!) but are first surveying the route into the Control Stop in Alice Springs. We will spend tonight at the Devil's Marbles rock formation, and are all looking forward to climbing the rocks in the morning.

TC - great to see your
TC - great to see your effortless Dutch translation! As far as I can tell, they are using Channel Island Rd to test here in Darwin - pretty close to the Hidden Valley qualifying track. I'm guessing that with the added weight of another coat of paint plus the reinforcements to their body, their car may have gained a few extra kgs. Also, the performance of their crashed array and the quality of their replacement cells will play a big role. Good luck to Michigan and GO BLUE! -Peter
Team Nuon reports that Nuna5
Team Nuon reports that Nuna5 is running again. They have the basic repairs done and are trying to get as much testing done as they can so they can find and fix any remaining glitches and determine the parameters for their strategic planning. Predictions: 1) Nuna5 will start the race. 2) Nuna5 will finish the race under its own power. 3) Nuna5 will NOT finish in the top three. (That's a biggie right there.) 4) Multiple teams from America will finish in the top 5. Big prediction: This is the year. Michigan will finally win the World Solar Challenge. - TC Lambert
