Infinium is out of Tennant Creek

Infinium has just left Tennant creek, 30 minutes behind Tokai and at least 30 minutes ahead of Nuon. The team is currently in the middle of a large dust storm, which is affecting the amount of energy the cells can generate. With every team affected by this storm, Infinium's large battery pack should help the team close the gap on Tokai!

Go Team! Checking the blog was the first thing I did when I got up. You're still holding strong, keep it up!
Nuna5 is still third in the
Nuna5 is still third in the race but is only 21km away from the team from Michigan. In tegenstelling tot gisteren heeft het Nuon Solar Team geen extra stops hoeven maken. Unlike yesterday, the Nuon Solar Team not having to make additional stops. However, there are still problems with the equipment of the solar car which Nuna5 12 minutes longer on the first stop control should remain. The systems that the amount of energy from the solar panel measuring giving incorrect values. This technical defect remains very difficult for Mission Control to the race strategy to calculate. Leader Tokai University in Japan has been a lead of 1 hour 15 minutes at the Delft students.

Aurora has come back to 12th
Aurora has come back to 12th and just 40 to 50km out of Tennant Creek. Still looking to win silicon class. Which would be a real challenge seeing they lost 5hrs....
Stanford says they're having
Stanford says they're having trouble with their array. Only putting out 550 W yesterday. They slowed to 50 kph. Apparently some tracker circuitry blew up and they will try to fix it overnight.
Uh oh. We used their tracker
Uh oh. We used their tracker design for some of ours...
I really thought Michigan
I really thought Michigan would have an advantage if the weather made teams slow down. But it seems like Michigan is slowing down while Nuon and Tokai have been able to keep their speeds up. Maybe they've drained their batteries more and we'll have more reserve for day 3.
The caption says "Today
The caption says "Today almost took over Michigan - had to fall back to save power. Will catch them tomorrow." That's from Team Nuon.
Weather for Alice Springs
Weather for Alice Springs says hazy, high of 29 C (84 F), and breezy (20 kph = 12 mph). Sunny in Kulgera and Coober Pedy, the next 2 control stops. Still a little breeze, but maybe less than further north. Michigan needs to go about 700 km to reach Coober Pedy. Hopefully, they will end the next day well past Coober Pedy.
Keep up the great work!
Keep up the great work!
G'day. Looks like Tokai was
G'day. Looks like Tokai was the only team to reach Alice Springs. Michigan and Nuon came up short. Michigan has lost ground, and Nuon is slowly gaining on them. Tokai actually made it to Alice Springs early enough to push on past it a little ways. Solar Team Twente, in 4th place, didn't reach Barrow Creek. MIT is about 50 minutes behind them, and Principia (the college with no school of engineering) is still 6th, about an hour behind MIT. Something must have happened to Stanford. They dropped to 9th, and haven't made it to Tennant Creek yet. Hey! It looks like Aurora 101 is back in the race! They made it to Dunmarra.

Keep your spirits up, there are a number of things that can evaporate even a multiple-hour lead. The GPS coordinates from WSC show Nuon holding steady another 50km behind us, so keep up the high speeds!

How is our position right
How is our position right now? From the board, which hasn’t changed in a while, it seems like Nuon and Tokai are keeping the same pace but we’re slowing down. The “live” coverage kinda sucks, and it’s getting annoying.
I agree....the live coverage

Hi Supporters, are you all getting tired over there in the USA? I can confirm Infinium is about 10 miles south of Barrow Creek
And I can confirm the
And I can confirm the tiredness. They'll be done in 35 minutes but I'm not going to stay awake that long. The WSC map isn't too enthralling, but it does indicate Infinium is close to Alice Springs as of an hour ago. Not about to judge the distance accurately right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if they made it by 5 local time.
Nice, is there any word on
Nice, is there any word on how far UofM is from Tokai or Nuon?
They have times up on the GGC
They have times up on the GGC website now, but they are the exact same numbers as at the last stop, so I'm assuming those are wrong.

They should be getting close.
They should be getting close. Another 20 minutes or so i'd guess.

Be careful out there in that nasty dust storm. Be safe and Go Blue, team. Luckily, I'm off tomorrow and I can stay up as long as I want. I wish I can see live show online instead looking at that boring real time map. Anyway, be safe.
