The Engineering Division is responsible for the design, manufacture, and most of the vehicle. Additionally, the race crew that operates the solar car on the races is composed primarily of Engineering Division members.

The division is segmented based on system, with teams working specifically on aerodynamics/body design, mechanical, electrical, micro-electrical, and procurement. Nearly every system on the vehicle is custom-designed and manufactured for each race.

The Engineering Division ensures not only that each individual system performs to the highest standards, but also that the systems work together properly to create a fully-functional and safe vehicle.
